When Driehoek cycling club was formed in season 30 manager Koen scouted the Bermudean amateur league for a potential captain. Eventually he recruited Ethanael Veale, who had won quite a few amateur races on Town Hill.
Veale immediately rewarded Koen's faith by winning Arguines - Arguines and scoring Driehoek's first points (seconds before Rodney Sudsberry added a few more with a fifth place). During season 30 he collected a few more points (and price money, which was more important for the young team). But in season 31 Athony Dabe, Driehoeks world class climbing talent, took over as captain.
Veale never complained about losing the captaincy. Instead, he gave his all to support Dabe. For 6 seasons he was part of Driehoeks main climbing team, but while he started as Dabe's right hand he slowly moved down the hierarchy when riders like Farrow and Pierce were trained. Veale stayed cheerful and happy to help when Pippen was bought, but in season 36 two new talents (Stiver and Tomhave) finally pushed him out of the first team.
Both Veale and Koen agreed that Veale was not yet ready for the backup team, and so he moved to another Bermudean climbing team; Tommy Teleshopping PCT. At his new team the experienced team mate was able to support Sherwin Mazur.
But now, due to a combination of Veale's age and the growing strength of Tommy Teleshopping PCT, Veale has also been relegated to the back-up team of his new home.
After a short discussion between Veale, Koen and Tommy it was decided that Veale would go back to Driehoek for his last seasons. Koen and Veale are already talking about a possible future as trainer.

Touching story. He also won a couple of parade races in his last part for Tommy Teleshopping. Decent guy too. Always helps old ladies across the road and never ever kicks puppies for fun. At least not in plain sight. :)
